23rd March 2018
In period 1 and 2, we stayed in our tutor class for maths, yes, our tutor teacher is also known as one of our maths teacher. Anyways, today in maths we were given our maths books to complete our normal warm up. After completing our warm up, we played a game that was involved with whiteboards and markers. It was very violent and fun! We then learnt more about fractions, decimals, mainly percentages.

Made In Taiwan
Made in Taiwan
In Samoa Ocar took Nathan to his village and also explained how Oscar’s dad died when he was 3. Ever since that, his mother took him to New Zealand to be raised by his Aunty and Uncle. The last time he came back was when he was 21. This time, when he came with Nate, it was time to find out where Samoan’s came from. They took DNA test to find out where Samoan’s originally came from.
Ascar and Nathan around some of the pacific to try and find out about where Polynesians actually came from? The countries they went to was Raro Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, and Taiwan. One of my personal favourite places that they went to was actually Vanuatu. What I found intresting about Vanuatu was actually how the local Vanuatu people were singing. Its very catchy! And also found it instresting how they take the skull of a skeleton after 1 year.
I also liked Taiwan too. They went to a museam in Taiwan. In the museam, they looked at photos of the original Taiwan people. Oscar also saw alot of photos with Familiar faces from his home (Otara), he was very happy to see the photos. After that, they traveld to Niwa’s (Niwa is a tour guide from Taiwan) villiage and watched people fo the traditinal dance, it was kind of like the Maori Haka. They then left to Niwa’s friends house, his name was Siki, Siki is apparently a good cook.
I think that the evidence they found in their journey was absolutely understanding! Well, first in Samoa, Oscar and Nathan was at Oscar’s mothers house, and that was when they got sent the letter about the DNA results.
I did think that their Journey was success! I think that it was a success because they did find out some interesting things about where they came from and alot of traditional food and respect.
